Campfire songs from the War Between the States

'Round the 'Ol Campfire

The songs on this recording have been selected to present an accurate and realistic musical experience representative of the songs the common soldier encountered in the War Between the States.  The banjo, fiddle, drum and various improvised rhythm instruments like the spoons, bones, and jaw harp were familiar to the private soldier - many times his only comfort.
You won't hear refined or carefully orchestrated arrangements on this recording.  What you will hear is what the soldiers of that great conflict heard while in camp.
