FRANKLIN PILGRIMAGE
The Prairie County Avengers, Tom Morphew, Preston Ware and friend Leonard Hartsfield enlarged on their "Franklin reenactment experience" by visiting the historical sites. First they went to Helena, ARK and visited Pat Cleburnes' grave on cemetery hill. Next they toured the Carter house in Franklin TN. It was a great tour! Shown above are photos of the buildings with the most "battle damage" in the United States. The office has 285 minne ball holes. Then they went to the spot most say ... General Cleburne met his death by the Carter gin breastworks. It is now where the door jamb is of the Dominoes Pizza parlour! Then they bought relic souvenirs (knapsack hooks to actually use in the reenactnment). Finally, the trip was complete when the trio visited the Confederate cemetery where over 1,700 heroes are buried.
At the reenactment the Prairie County Avengers met up with Carl Anderton ( a fantastic musician and minstrel banjo player) and played a night of civil war and authentic minstrel songs!
